Water is channelled as it comes down the mountains and first stop is the laundry mat |
We could see for miles after the sandstorm passed |
View of the town from the tower in the kasbah |
City square at night - fairy land |
After breakfast a group of 6 of us went and explored, walking all around the town, stopping to talk to the locals, look in shops and take millions of photos. We bought a hand woven blanket each, and the others bought other nic nacks.
By the middle of the day we met in the town centre and paid to go into the kasbak from which there were fabulous views of the city and mountains around us. There were so many kodak moments that morning.
In the afternoon the 5 women went to the local hammam. We were all in a room in our underpants only then a woman did each of us in turn - pouring warm water over us in the steam room, rubbing us all over with an olive paste then scrubbing us with a loofer. I even got a hair wash! It was very relaxing and my skin felt so soft.
Dinner was at a restaurant in town whilst the sun was setting and the call to prayer was chanted. I had a beef tfaya - couscous, beef, chickpeas and caramalised onion - yummy!
Gin either before or after dinner is becoming a ritual between 4 of us - great way to end the day.
