Can't believe it, I slept for 10 hours straight! Must've been tired. It is a gorgeous day so quickly skyped Ma and Pa, had breakfast with Christoph then ran out the door to go into Zurich.
I walked down to the lake, picking up fruit and a coffee (very expensive, cost same as 1.5 hour lake tour!!) on the way, then jumped on a lake cruise. It was so relaxing! The weather was perfect, people are at the parks lining the lake and either sunbaking, swimming, playing on paddle boats or other equipment. The homes that line the lake are generally stunning and I am so pleased to see that the water is so clean - loads of fish visible, and barely any rubbish. The mountains can been seen in the distance and are snow capped. Just love that sight. I could've easily done another trip but instead wandered around town again.
This time I went into a number of sites:
It was so chillaxing just wandering and it is all so accessible on foot. I'm taking so many photos of shuttered windows with flower boxes, doork knockers, signs, buildings...just gorgeous.
For dinner Christoph and I met his partner and we went out to dinner at Restaurant Die Waid which has a spectacular view of Zurich. The food and wine was good, the company even better. There were a lot of people around with camera's due to an eclipse that was scheduled but we couldn't see anything due to all the cloud cover. Bummer.

This time I went into a number of sites:
- Fraumunster - originally a Benedictine convent founded in 853AD, and extensively renovated recently to include amazing original stain glass windows by a Swiss artist
- St Peter's Kirche (church) - which has the largest church clockface in Europe
- Grossmunster - work commenced in 1090, and is dedicated to the patron saints of Zurich. There is an amazing view from the north tower (it has twin towers), and to reach it you need to climb (and I did climb!) 200 steps.
