Day 95 - Another overnight train

Said goodbye to Christoph early as he was off to work, then spent the rest of the morning packing, catching up on downloading photos, emails and skype before catching the tram/bus/trolley car to the Botanical Gardens.  It is in desperate need of rain - Zurich like other parts of Europe have had significantly lower than average rain fall and it shows.

I then followed a canal through the streets to the edge of Zurich Lake and a Chinese Garden, built in 1993 by gardeners and artisans from Zurich and Kunming - twin city of China (at the Swiss peoples' expense I was later told!).  It was so lovely and tranquil, beautifully maintained, with the added bonus of 'fairies' floating in profusion through the air - must be coming from a tree somewhere around and could account for my bad hayfever.

For the next couple of hours I walked along the lake, stopping to enjoy the view, people watch, and to be entertained by street performers.  The sun was gorgeous so I really didn't want to be inside, and it was nice not running around site seeing.  People flock to the river in the warm weather - swimming, sunbaking, riding bikes, walking, talking, eating etc.  It was a great atmosphere.

I packed up all my things at Christoph's (forgot my adaptor!  Second one I have left behind), and went to Zurich train station to catch my overnight train for Prague.  It was so lovely, Christoph's partner came to say goodbye and then Christoph met me at Baden Train station, providing some yummy goodies for the journey.  I was so touched that both of the guys came to see me off.

I am in a sleeper carriage with only 1 other female.  Unfortunately she wasn't in the mood for talking.  The cabin is really comfortable so I should sleep like a baby.  Overnight train trip # 3.
