Day 58 - Dublin to Westport

Olly got picked up at 8am to be taken to the airport.  It was sad to see her go...can imagine us doing a road trip together.
I packed the car then walked into town to take a photo of Molly Malone (“the tart with the cart”) then went to the Chester Beatty Library to see the rest of the exhibition).

By 12noon I was back at the hotel and taking off west to drive across Ireland to Westport.  I was told it would take about 4.5 hours and that was right.  On the way I had many photo stops, whilst dodging showers.

Driving and navigating and looking out for photo opportunities is very tiring.  Once in Westport I went for a walk for about an hour to stretch, see the town and get fresh air.

I bought a couple of things from the supermarket for dinner, really did not have the energy to go out and it was Monday night and the town was very quiet and I needed to book my accommodation for the rest of Ireland so spent an hour in the bar at the hotel doing so.
You might be wondering how I have chosen my places to stay on my trip round Ireland – basically choosing towns from recommendations then using Trip Advisor, a website that provides ratings from travellers on the accommodation options they stay at.  So far it has been working out well.  Average cost is about $75 a night, mostly this includes breakfast.
