Yvie woke up the next day and felt good - we were really relieved. We had a quiet morning, drinking cups of tea and coffee and watching the news re the continuing financial crisis (amazing how quickly the Pound and Euro can drop against the Australian $). Anyway, we packed up our belongings, checked out then went down to Brighton fore-shore for a wander and some breakfast.
Yvie had been to a place called Beachy Head previously, and suggested we all go this time for the walk and the scenery. I was so pleased we did, it was a great walk and by this stage the wind had died down and we had brilliant sunshine. The area was stunning. We had to walk through paddocks with cows to get to the beach - they are so cute, with the biggest eyelashes ever.
There were so many other people also enjoying the view and the walk - seems as if it is a well known place.
It must've been about 3-4pm and we had not had anything to eat since breakfast so stopped at the local pub for a Plowmans and Meze Plate, washed down with a lager top (beer and lemonade - not as much lemonade as a shandy) and cider. We were sitting out in the beer garden, as were many other people, enjoying the sunshine.
The drive back to Farnham didn't take us that long which was good. I said my farewells to Yvie as it is likely to be the last time I see her before I leave the UK. We spent the evening watching the news - the rioting in London. I just can't believe what I am seeing.
